Dereje Geleta Negera is an Ethiopian researcher, academician, and university lecturer with a research focus on public health, EcoHealth, and vector-borne disease control. His work emphasises the development of localised and sustainable solutions for vector-borne diseases, particularly malaria, within rapidly urbanising settings in Ethiopia. He has contributed to interdisciplinary and collaborative research addressing the social, ecological, and environmental determinants of disease transmission, including the spread of Anopheles stephensi.

Dereje's research interests include Eco health approaches, community-based health interventions, urban health, qualitative research, and integrated vector management strategies. He is committed to generating evidence that supports context-specific public health policies and strengthens community resilience against emerging health challenges. Through his academic, research, and mentorship activities, he aims to advance innovative and locally grounded approaches to improving health outcomes in Ethiopia and beyond.
