Dr Hadja Fatoumata Souare is a medical doctor with a strong interest in public health research. She currently works as a Maternal Health Research Assistant at the National Centre for Training and Research in Rural Health (CNFRSR) of Maferinyah, Guinea, as part of the FA5 programme. She is currently working on a research project exploring women's referral pathways to emergency obstetric care in Conakry, Guinea. Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), she reconstructs and describes the trajectories followed by women from referring health facilities to Ignace Deen National Hospital. Her research interests include maternal and newborn health, health systems and implementation research, and the application of GIS to public health. Through her work, she aims to generate evidence that helps improve maternal healthcare access and strengthen health systems in low- and middle-income countries.
