Debaïf Mutombo is an epidemiologist-biostatistician and a PhD candidate at the School of Public Health, University of Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo. His research focuses on public health, with particular interests in maternal and newborn health, implementation research, and health systems strengthening. He combines advanced statistical modelling, geospatial modelling, and systems thinking to better understand healthcare provision in urban settings. His current research explores the dynamics of maternal and newborn healthcare provision in the Democratic Republic of the Congo using system dynamics modelling. Through his work, he aims to generate evidence that supports evidence-informed decision-making and contributes to the design of more responsive, resilient, and equitable health systems in low-resource settings.
