Dr Juliet Babirye is a physician-researcher from Uganda with over a decade of experience in HIV clinical care and research. She has been an investigator on NIH-funded studies and coordinated research on HIV-associated dyslipidaemia, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, TB/HIV, HIV vaccines, hepatitis C, bone mineral density loss, and HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). She has worked at Makerere University, the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI), the Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC), and the Makerere University–Johns Hopkins University (MU-JHU) Research Collaboration.

She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Makerere University. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium, and has received additional research and clinical training at Yale University, Washington University in St. Louis, and Des Moines University. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and serves on the Board of the Uganda Society for Health Scientists.
