Dr Leonard Kambewa is a Public Health Physician and Implementation Scientist with a Master of Public Health from the University of Ghana. He holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malawi College of Medicine and a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery Technician from the Malawi College of Health Sciences. He currently serves as a District Medical Officer with the Ministry of Health, Malawi, at the Phalombe District Health Office. He is a Fellow of the inaugural Leadership for Innovation & Excellence in Women's Health in Africa (2026–2027), a 2025 American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene LMIC Clinician Travel Awardee, and a 2024 WHO/TDR alumnus. He provides technical leadership for clinical services, differentiated service delivery, health financing, and emergency preparedness and response, contributing to stronger district health systems and improved service delivery through implementation research and evidence-informed decision-making.
