Dr Luis Cabrera Sosa is a Peruvian biologist with a Master's degree and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (Peru). He is currently pursuing a Sandwich PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Antwerp and the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. With more than 10 years of research experience, his work has focused on infectious diseases, including neonatal sepsis, infant diarrhoea, leishmaniasis, and malaria. His expertise encompasses molecular diagnostics, genomics, and molecular epidemiology, with a particular emphasis on malaria surveillance in Peru and Latin America. He has led multidisciplinary research projects, coordinated international scientific collaborations, and contributed to strengthening regional networks for malaria molecular surveillance.
