Nkimbeng Desmond Akumtoh is a Cameroonian research associate and science educator based in Buea, Cameroon. He works at the Parasite and Vector Biology Research Unit (PAVBRU), in the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology, at the Faculty of Science, University of Buea. His research centres on applied sciences and biological research, with a focus on neglected tropical diseases of filarial origin and, more recently, TB research. His research projects address local challenges through scientific investigation, student mentorship, and collaboration within the University and beyond. He is involved in teaching and training undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and scientific writing, with the aim of strengthening education and fostering research and development. For community impact, he is engaged in community development in the areas of health, environment, and sustainable practices. As a young scientist and researcher, he is committed to advancing research capacity in Cameroon and promoting evidence-based solutions through science.
