Oluwaseyi Samuel Akinpelu is an early-career biomedical researcher and microbiologist from Nigeria with research interests in infectious diseases, vaccine design, bioinformatics, genomics, and immunoinformatics. He currently serves as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Helix Biogen Institute, where he supports research, student mentorship, scientific writing, and training in molecular biology, vaccine design, and computational biology. His work focuses on using genomic and immunoinformatics approaches to understand neglected and emerging pathogens, with particular interest in Mokola virus, mRNA vaccine development, antimicrobial resistance, and African-led biomedical innovation. Oluwaseyi has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and youth-focused scientific capacity-building initiatives. He is passionate about strengthening infectious disease research capacity in Africa and advancing locally relevant solutions for global health security.
