Dr Mezgebu Silamsaw Asres is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Gondar and an experienced internist, Investigator, clinical trial physician, and Medical Monitor, with over a decade of work in infectious diseases research and clinical care. He currently leads the University of Gondar Clinical Trial Center and plays an active role in Ethiopia’s clinical research landscape as a technical advisor to the Ministry of Health on clinical trials, supporting the National Clinical Trial Network of Ethiopia.
Trained in Internal Medicine and Tropical Medicine, he has led and supported many international studies, including trials on visceral leishmaniasis, malaria, and COVID-19, and has authored more than 23 peer-reviewed publications. His work reflects strong expertise in outbreak research, clinical trials, and global health leadership, focusing on advancing evidence-based responses, particularly in neglected tropical diseases and emerging infections.
